A beautiful bending -Experimental Creations Tokyo 2018-
A beautiful bendingはアラカワグリップの持つ特性の一つであるワイヤーの任意の位置でグリップが止まり、 保持する機構に着目。板材を用い、 浮遊するオブジェクトを作り出す。
両端に取り付けたグリップを任意の位置に上下することで、 間に挟まれた板材がそれぞれの素材の応力に伴ったしなり具合をみせる。 しなることで生まれる素材表面の表情の変化を探る作品。発展的な構想としては、浮遊する照明器具になったり、 パーテーションとしての役割を持ったり、空間演出のインテリアとして機能するものになる。
This is a project that utilized the unique characteristics of Arakawa Grip, which allows users to move and lock the gripping units as they like. For this project, I created floating objects by mixing plates up with these units.
By raising and lowering the gripping positions, the plates placed in between display various effects brought about by the tension. This is a project that allows you to enjoy the changes in material surface expressions. The findings can be employed into spatial design by developing products such as floating luminaire and a room partition.
